Eligibility Criteria

These dates are fixed separately for each academic level, and only those students who have entered their respective programs after these fixed dates will be considered eligible for this scheme.

To be eligible for the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme 2025, the candidate must be studying in a recognized university or degree-awarding institution in the public sector, which is approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Under this scheme, students who have enrolled in a PhD, MS, MPhil, or its equivalent in an 18-year program will be eligible; however, students in weekend programs are not included in it. Similarly, students enrolled in 1.5- and 2-year master’s degree programs are also eligible for this scheme, provided that they are not part of the weekend program.
In addition, students who have enrolled in a 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree program (morning or evening) can also benefit from this scheme. Regarding academic performance, it has been stipulated that students in the semester system must have obtained at least a 2.80 CGPA, while students in the annual system must have at least 60 percent marks. The formula set by HEC will be followed to convert GPA or CGPA into percentage so that the principles of merit can be maintained.
Ineligible Students

- The first reason is that those students who have taken admission in their respective educational program before the date mentioned in the above table such students will not be eligible for this scheme.

- Furthermore, those students who have obtained laptops under any federal or provincial laptop scheme in the past will also not be eligible to apply for this scheme again.
- Similarly, those foreign students who are residing in Pakistan only for education have also been exempted from this scheme.
- Finally, all students who do not submit the online application within the stipulated time or fail to provide the required academic documents and proof of performance will also be considered ineligible.
