8171 Web Portal Temporarily Closed

If you have visited the 8171 web portal (https://8171.bisp.gov.pk) in the recent days, you may have received a “Service Unavailable” or “Error” message. The website is currently temporarily closed, due to which people are unable to check their eligibility, installment information, or PMT score.

Why Did This Issue Occur?

There could be several possible reasons behind the web portal outage:

• High traffic: Since the updates for the latest installment (May/June 2025) are being released, the website has become very busy.
• System update or repair: Sometimes server updates or software repairs are done to improve the portal.

Is The 8171 Web Portal Permanently Down?

SMS your 13-digit CNIC number to 8171. You will receive a response within a few moments, informing you whether you are eligible or not.

Contact the BISP Helpline:

If you do not receive a response to the SMS or need additional information, you can contact BISP’s helpline at 0800-26477. This call is free, and you only need to provide your CNIC number, after which the representative will provide you with complete guidance.

Visit the nearest BISP office:

If you are facing difficulty in accessing the information online or over the phone, you can visit the nearest BISP or Ehsaas Markaz. There you can also update your information and also know about your eligibility. Carry your CNIC with you so that the staff can assist you.

Beware Of Rumors

Various rumors are circulating on social media after the news of the closure of the 8171 portal. Some are saying that the program has been closed, while others are saying that new people are not being added. All such news is false. This is a temporary technical issue that is being worked on.
