Why Is This Program Important?

A cow or buffalo is an asset that provides immediate and consistent income. A buffalo gives about 12 liters of milk per day, which women can sell to support their household expenses. The income from milk can be used to meet basic needs such as food, children’s education and clothing. Moreover, calves grow up and become a source of additional income.

Maryam Nawaz has described the scheme as “dignified employment”, which not only provides financial support to women but also gives them autonomy, confidence and respect.

  • Income from sale of milk or calves
  • Free fodder and veterinary facilities
  • Financial independence and respect in society for women
  • Increase in food and employment at the local level

Like other financial assistance, it is not just temporary help but a permanent support. An asset like a cow or buffalo grows over time and becomes a source of permanent income for the family. This program is being run in a transparent and digital manner with the help of the Punjab IT Board, so that every deserving woman gets its due.
